Dog home boarding in Cheetham Hill, Higher Broughton and the surrounding areas – the perfect alternative to kennels.
The Dog Home boarding service from Digs for Dogs is the perfect alternative to kennels. We match you and your dog with a host family you can trust and who exceeds your expectations, so you can be confident that your pooch is cared for and contented whenever you’re away.
We love dogs and understand, as dog owners ourselves, that leaving home for business or pleasure can be a concern for both you and your four-legged friend. In our experience, kennels can be a worrisome place for dogs, and dog owners, and often people leave with little reassurance that their pooch will be shown the same love, care and affection they are shown at home.

Our network of thoroughly vetted host home boarding families in Cheetham Hill, Higher Broughton and the surrounding areas will ensure that your dog has a great holiday whilst you’re away too! They will have been carefully selected and appropriate for your dog’s needs.
At Digs for Dogs our most important job is to ensure that dog owners can go away on holiday to relax and unwind, safe in the knowledge that their best friend is being loved and cared for. We have a passion for dogs of all shapes and sizes and we don’t mind if they regularly sleep in the bedroom or hide our favourite shoes, clamber on the furniture or get a little eager on walks and pull on the lead.
Our home boarders offer a one to one service for your pet and they are always at home during the day. We’ve chosen all our host families based on their devotion to dogs who will treat your dog like one of the family.
Some of our host families have their own dogs and others have previously owned animals but now chose to provide a dog home boarding service rather than having a dog of their own on a full-time basis. You can rest assured that your dog will experience a happy holiday stay with their usual home comforts, including lots of affection, care and love.
Host families are just like us, and they’re certain to meet our extremely high pet sitting standards and values. It’s your choice as to who your dog will stay with, and depending on his or her needs, whether they reside with a family that already has a dog or one that doesn’t. We want you, and your best friend to be completely happy.
We’ll meet with you and your dog at your own home, at your convenience, so we can talk over various things in relation to your dogs. This will include daily routines such as feeding schedules and exercise and sleeping routines. We’ll also discuss any quirky behavioural traits he or she might have.
Your involvement into this process is crucial and allows us to make the right match with one of our loving dog home boarding families in the Southport area. We understand that you will want to know where your dog will be staying whilst you are away and we take time to show you all our dog-loving families in your local area
If you have a puppy or an elderly dog, or a dog who must take regular medication you can be confident that their requirements will be met. Our home boarders provide around the clock care and attention and are always at home during the day. The Digs for Dogs team are in regular touch with our host families when they are looking after your most loyal and trusted friend and we’ll keep you updated during your time away if there’s anything you need to know.
Home boarding for dogs is the perfect solution for dog owners that want to guarantee that their pets are being looked after by a loving family whilst they are away from home and unable to do so themselves.
Meet Sue Kent our Home Boarding for Dogs Franchisee in Manchester and surrounding areas
Hi my name is Sue and I have spent the last 28 years in the automotive industry working for global brands like Ford Motor Company, Jaguar, Land Rover and latterly MG Motor. I have been lucky enough to travel the world with my job but recently decided it was time for a complete change of career and lifestyle. I was initially introduced to Digs for Dogs as a customer, and seeing the love and care they put into looking after Sam, my Cocker Spaniel I knew it was a company I would like to be a part of. So when the opportunity came along, I took it.
I know first-hand how important your four legged friends are to your family. I got Sam our mad Cocker Spaniel nearly 11 years ago as my son was scared of dogs and I wanted him to benefit from the unconditional love and great fun that comes with dog ownership. It was the best thing I could have done as not only did it cure his fear they became best friends.
I want to assure you that I will be providing the best care possible for your dog/s and ensuring they have a safe, enjoyable stay with Digs for Dogs.
I provide a home boarding for dogs service in the Manchester and surrounding areas including Miles Platting, Ancoats, Droylsden, Openshaw, Failsworth, Moston, Crumpsall, Middleton, Blackley, Cheetham Hill and Higher Broughton. If you want your dog to be loved and cared for whilst you are away then please call me on 07753 674681, email firstname.lastname@example.org or fill in the form at the top of this page and I’ll call you back.
Try a Sleepover
We can offer you an introductory sleepover for your dog if you’re booking a holiday and would like to try our home boarding service first. Having the peace of mind that your dog has settled will enable you to enjoy your holiday whilst your best friend enjoys their holiday too. Please ask for further information on this when you register your dog.
Door to Door Service
We will arrange to collect your dog on the date of your departure and transport them to their home boarding family in an air conditioned, dog friendly, fully insured vehicle. From experience we have found that your dog will settle so much more with their home boarder if we collect them rather than they would if you were dropping them off.
Pack a Suitcase
You will need to pack a suitcase with all of their usual belongings – bedding, bowls, lead, treats toys, – and you will also need to provide sufficient food for the duration of their stay. Your dog will also need to be up-to-date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatments.
Keep in touch
We will keep in regular contact with the home boarder during your dogs’ stay and we will be on hand in case of any emergencies. We can also send you a text or email update with pictures to let you know how your dog is settling in with their home boarding family.
