Dog home boarding Ormskirk, Halsall and Aughton – the perfect alternative to kennels.
We know, as dog owners ourselves, that it can be an anxious time when you leave your dog to go away on holiday or with business. Kennels don’t always provide a home from home experience or the reassurance that your dog is being well cared for in a loving and friendly environment.
Home dog boarding with Digs for Dogs is a far superior alternative to putting your dog in kennels. We will provide a Happy Holiday Home for your four-legged friends with a loving Home Boarding family whenever you can’t be there.

Happy Holiday Homes for Dogs in Ormskirk, Halsall, Aughton and The Surrounding Areas
We have a network of very special home boarders who ensure that every dog boarding with a Digs for Dogs home boarding family will get a happy holiday home of their own whilst their owners are away.
Our families have been carefully selected because of their dedication and love of dogs. Some are dog owners themselves and others have previously owned dogs in the past but now prefer to provide a regular dog home boarding service.
All our home boarders are at home during the day, offering a one on one service to your four-legged friend. Your dog will enjoy a happy stay with the home comforts they’re used to, including lots of love and attention. We love dogs of all shapes and sizes and we don’t mind if they pull on the lead, sleep in the bedroom, go on the furniture or even hide your favourite shoes!
At Digs for Dogs our main aim is to ensure that dog owners can go away on holiday to relax and unwind, safe in the knowledge that their furry best friend is being loved and cared for.
Making the Right Match
Choosing the right home dog boarding family is very important and your input into this process is invaluable. You will want to know where your dog is going to stay whilst you are away, so during our time together you are going to see all our dog-loving families in Ormskirk and the surrounding areas.
To make the right match with one of our dog home boarding families in Ormskirk, Halsall, Aughton and the surrounding areas, we will initially book an appointment to visit you in your own home and take a thorough profile of your dog or dogs, including any behaviour quirks, exercise, sleeping and feeding routines.
Our home boarders are at home during the day to ensure that around the clock care is always provided, especially where puppies, dogs on regular medication and elderly dogs are concerned.
They are just like you and me and guaranteed to exceed our extremely high pet sitting criteria and standards. You can decide whether your loyal best friend will stay with a family that already has a resident dog, depending on his needs.
The Digs for Dogs team are in regular touch with our host families when they are looking after your most loyal and trusted friend, we’ll keep you updated during your time away if there’s anything you need to know. Our home boarders provide around the clock care and attention and are always at home during the day. If you have a puppy or an elderly dog, or a dog who must take regular medication you can be confident that their needs will be met.

Try a Sleepover
We can offer you an introductory sleepover for your dog if you’re booking a holiday and would like to try our home boarding service first. Having the peace of mind that your dog has settled will enable you to enjoy your holiday whilst your best friend enjoys their holiday too. Please ask for further information on this when you register your dog.
Door to Door Service
We will arrange to collect your dog on the date of your departure and transport them to their home boarding family in an air conditioned, dog friendly, fully insured vehicle. From experience we have found that your dog will settle so much more with their home boarder if we collect them rather than they would if you were dropping them off.
Pack a Suitcase
You will need to pack a suitcase with all of their usual belongings – bedding, bowls, lead, treats toys, – and you will also need to provide sufficient food for the duration of their stay. Your dog will also need to be up-to-date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatments.
Keep in touch
We will keep in regular contact with the home boarder during your dogs’ stay and we will be on hand in case of any emergencies. We can also send you a text or email update with pictures to let you know how your dog is settling in with their home boarding family.
